HNS Policy  

HNS providers may not waive or reduce co-payments, deductibles, co-insurances or other patient responsibility payments.

 

This includes services deemed TWIP (take what insurance pays).   All co-payments/deductibles/co-insurance should be collected at the time of service. If the patient responsibility has not been paid for more than 3 consecutive office visits, there must be a written payment plan signed by the patient included in the health care record.

 

HNS providers may not discount fees for covered services. All covered services must be provided at the provider's usual and customary fees.

 

Waiving or reducing co-payments, deductibles, co-insurances, or offering to waive these patient responsibilities, or offering discounts for fees for covered services unless there is true financial hardship (and appropriate documented evidence of the hardship) will result in immediate dismissal from the HNS network.
